It looks like TV mom Kate Gosselin is still within the ranks of the jobless, and the mom of eight is keeping a close eye on her family’s coffers.
Gosselin, 36, was on top of the reality TV world just a few short months ago. Her reign was long, with her brood of eight, and hubby Jon in tow, ruling the world of unscripted dramas from the time her sextuplets were infants. And Americans watched the eight kids in total (the larger set and twins Mady and Cara) grow into school aged children on TLC’s hit Jon and Kate Plus 8.
But Jon and Kate separated a few years into the show, with Jon moving out and publicly dating a series of questionable women before the show became Kate Plus 8 . America just wasn’t as interested in the story of a single mom raising a large brood of kids, and this summer, the remaining Gosselins got their pink slips, thrusting Kate into the 10%-ish of Americans who don’t have a job.
Us Weekly noted that the mom of eight is now using coupons, something most celebrities avoid due to copious comps. The mag quotes the former Mrs. Gosselin as saying:
“No matter how much money you have, it’s just smart to use coupons. It’s like free money in your pocket. One week, I remember saving more than half my grocery bill that week with coupons. I was beyond thrilled.”
And Kate will also be blogging her cash-saving experiences for the blog CouponCabin.com- back in October, she tweeted:
“I’ve never shopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond WITHOUT coupons! I’ve returned with my receipt and a coupon many times, even when ‘not broke.’”
