The official teaser poster for Jurassic World has been released, and its tagline insists that “The Park Is Open.”
Director Colin Trevorrow revealed the image via Twitter on Tuesday, October 14. Updating the classic imagery of the Jurassic Park franchise, the Jurassic World poster is a study in simplicity, utilizing a darkly monochromatic vibe to add a slightly sinister edge to the iconic artwork.

The release comes amid intense speculation among fans that the film’s first teaser trailer will also soon be revealed, as JurassicWorld.org notes. The trailer is rumored to have been test screened recently, as YouTube user Ivan Flores claimed to have viewed it inside a Regal cinema after being approached to take part in a survey. He posted a YouTube video describing what he saw, though it was removed at the request of NBC/Universal, lending credibility to his description in the eyes of fans.

According to Screenrant , Jurassic World’s teaser confirms several plot points that have long been rumored. The trailer reportedly opens with a ferryboat heading to Isla Nublar, where Jurassic World operates as a now functional park. After several of the dinosaur attractions that make up the park are glimpsed, tourists are shown watching as a great white shark is fed to an aquatic dinosaur. Bryce Dallas Howard’s character briefly appears during a quick montage of the chaos that ensues after a dinosaur escapes, presumably the engineered creature rumored to have been created by Jurassic World scientists. At the end of the trailer, Chris Pratt’s character appears, revealing muzzled and tamed velociraptors he employs in an effort to track down the rouge dino.
Many of Jurassic World’s plot elements have emerged as rumors, though there is no way to assess their validity. As The Inquisitr previously reported, a genetically modified dinosaur is set to feature prominently in the film. Known as Diabolus Rex, the creature is thought to be the result of a combination of genes belonging to a cuttlefish, snake, velociraptor and a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Its escape is rumored to set the events of Jurassic World in motion, an idea seemingly confirmed by the trailer description.

While fans eagerly await the teaser trailer, Jurassic World is set to be released on June 12, 2015.
