Diplo and Katy Perry are dating… but are doing so quietly. According to E! News , Katy wants to keep her new relationship under wraps because she has learned the hard way that very public romances don’t last. Sources say that Katy is “in control” of this relationship, and Diplo is totally fine with it. In fact, he likes it.
“She’s keeping this one undercover because she’s learned her lesson. She’s in control, but he likes that. He knows she’s in charge and respects her. She keeps tabs on him… but she trusts him and that’s the most important thing to her,” a source explained.
Diplo and Katy Perry are not taking things too slow, however. They have been dating since April, just a few weeks after Katy broke things off with her on-again boyfriend, John Mayer. While it has only been about seven months, Diplo as already met Katy’s family.
“Her family likes him a lot. You can see how comfortable she feels with him already because the whole crew hangs with him already and they approve. It’s important that everyone gets along with him because makes her crazy life easier,” the source added.
Just last month, Katy was in Las Vegas to support her newest guy, and they were hanging out with mutual friends and having a great time. According to People Magazine , Katy found herself a spot in the VIP section during DJ Diplo’s set at Surrender Nightclub at Encore (a Wynn hotel). She looked like she was really happy.
Diplo and Katy Perry likely have a lot in common. For starters, they are both in the music business — which is something that Katy is totally into. She recently said that she’s “instantly attracted” to anyone that “understands the power of music.”
Although Diplo and Katy have been spotted out together, they haven’t shared any photos together on social media. This, of course, is their way of keeping their relationship quiet. However, the two have been going out and enjoying life regardless.
According to The Inquisitr , Katy Perry has been chosen to perform at the 2015 Super Bowl … and chances are Diplo will be with her — if the two are still together. While no one expects a joint performance of any kind, you can probably guess that Diplo will be in a box somewhere, watching his girlfriend rock the stage.
