‘Today’ Fall Concert Series Announced

The Today Fall Concert Series has been announced by the NBC News program, and it includes an amazing set of talents, according to industry blog TV Newser .

The opening act on Tuesday (September 23) will be Kenny Chesney, performing on the number two morning show the same day his album The Big Revival is released in stores and on iTunes.

Other acts slated to perform during the Today Fall Concert Series include Lady Antebellum, Bastille, Fleetwood Mac, Ylvis, and Neil Diamond, TV Newser reported. The blog also indicated that One Direction would perform a concert as part of the series, but instead of performing at 30 Rock, the band will be performing at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, on November 17 to promote the group’s upcoming Four album.

The Today Fall Concert series, and its companion Summer Concert Series, have become a mainstay on the NBC News program.

But the concert series are not just isolated to NBC. ABC News program Good Morning America has long held a summer concert series in Central Park , which has had at least a few moments that have lived in infamy.

The rival morning program, which is currently number one in the Nielsen ratings, has also launched a Fall Concert Series that has featured many different acts, according to its ABCNews.com page.

Among the acts to have made appearances are Florence and the Machine, Avril Lavigne, Lauren Alaina, Martina McBride, Nicole Scherzinger, The Bangles, Demi Lovato, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Kenny Chesney, John Legend, and Tom Jones.

While the summer series are typically performed at Central Park, the Good Morning America Fall Concert Series is housed at its Times Square studio at 1500 Broadway, also known as Times Square Plaza.

For anyone wanting to attend one of the many concerts put together by the morning shows this Fall, I would recommend showing up several hours before the show is scheduled to broadcast. Having seen Enrique Iglesias appear on Today several years back (before he launched his own fragrance line ), we arrived at 5 a.m. to get our spot in the crowd. And since some of the acts slated to perform on both programs are possibly being bigger than Enrique, it is a wise idea to plan for an early morning, and as Fall stretches on, a very cold morning as well.

So, do you plan to attend one of the concerts at the morning shows this year? If so, which one? Tell us in the comments section below.
