Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was able to beat Marcos Maidana with ease on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Even though it seemed as if Floyd Mayweather, Jr. struggled greatly to win against Maidana back in May, he made it apparently clear that he is the better boxer on Saturday. Even after suffering an alleged bite as well as a confirmed tackle from Maidana, Mayweather was able to win the fight unanimously.

Reports before and after the fight confirmed that Floyd Mayweather, Jr. walked away with at least $30 million from this particular bout alone – which means that his bank account was also on the winning side this weekend.

However, even with yet another victory in the ring to add to his undisputed record and impressive career, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is still viewed as a loser in the eyes of many fans and critics.

How so?

(1) Floyd Mayweather, Jr. seems nonchalant about domestic abuse claims and support: In addition to having his own history of domestic violence allegations and charges, Mayweather made headlines recently by sympathizing with Ray Rice and his recent domestic violence debacle.

Rachel Nichols from CNN was able to put Mayweather in the hot seat recently, especially when she asked him why people should still support him and root for him when he has been connected to domestic violence cases in the past himself. Mayweather seemed to brush off the question by stating:

Everything has been allegations. Nothing has been proven. So, you know, that’s life.

He also continued by saying:

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. When it is all said and done, only God can judge me.

(2) Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has yet to fight a worthy opponent . Many of the people that Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has fought over the years seemed to be intentionally put in place to lose. Does this mean that his fights have been rigged? No. However, if you continuously search for opponents that you know you can beat, does that truly make you a “champion?” Or, does that simply mean you are great at playing it safe? When you think about such legendary champions as Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, they went up against top-notch fighters that were true competitors . While it is true that doing so led to losses being added to their record, their comebacks from those losses only made them more powerful and reputable as champions – something that Floyd Mayweather, Jr. may never be able to achieve.

(3) Floyd Mayweather, Jr. puts money over literacy. In recent months, the fact that Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has a big problem with reading has made headlines on its own – especially after being directly challenged and taunted by the likes of 50 Cent and morning show radio host Charlemagne da God . However, as a response to those taunts and claims, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. simply showed off two of his recent paychecks – stating “Read This.”

What do you think about Floyd Mayweather, Jr.? Is he a winner or a loser?
