Nikki Reed is one lucky lady — most girls would love to have a knight in shining armor like Ian Somerhalder.
According to E! News , Ian left no shadow of doubt that he and Nikki are dating by going on a somewhat surprising Instagram rant. Apparently some fans of The Vampire Diaries are not happy about Somerhalder dating Reed , and they’ve been using social media to express their feelings.
However, it doesn’t sound like Ian Somerhalder is going to let his fans have any influence on his relationship with Nikki Reed. After seeing some nasty comments about Nikki on his Instagram profile, the feisty Vampire Diaries star bit back.
“You HATE NIKKI REED? Really? Do you know her? Hmmmm, I’m not sure that you do. Look on her Instagram feed or twitter and all you will see is a compassionate and beautiful human being.”
Ian continue his rant by basically telling the “fans” to get lost.
“Please put your negative energy elsewhere. You don’t even know the person you’re talking about.”
However, Ian Somerhalder wasn’t finished scolding the fans for their bad behavior, and he also wasn’t done gushing about how awesome Nikki Reed is.
“Do you care about me? Ask yourself that question. What’s the answer? Is it yes? If it is—then please be happy for me. Stop this nonsense—you’re spreading horrible energy into the world. Do some research of the person you say sucks or you HATE. You’ll find that she’s a magical person doing great things in the world.”
It sounds like Ian Somerhalder’s feelings for Nikki Reed are continuing to grow stronger, and the couple is getting very serious — they’ve moved in together, and they’ve even adopted a horse together. Unfortunately, this could be bad news for fans of The Vampire Diaries .
As The Inquisitr previously reported, Nina Dobrev might leave the show after the sixth season. She’s allegedly getting too uncomfortable working alongside her ex-boyfriend, and things are getting worse now that Ian is dating one of her former friends.
If Nina Dobrev were to leave, perhaps Ian Somerhalder should suggest replacing her with Nikki Reed. After all, she does have experience playing a vampire in the Twilight movies.
The fan response to Nikki Reed might also have Ian Somerhalder thinking about walking away from The Vampire Diaries . He seemed pretty fed up by the end of his Instagram rant.
“I’m sickened and saddened by the fans’ response to all this. Many fans have stood up people like you and tried to empower you with some compassion. If we all thought a little or [learned] a little about people before we spoke about them, the world wouldn’t be so upside down and in the worst place in history. If you hate Nikki then you must hate me…That’s sad. Have an amazing day!”
Some of Ian Somerholder’s fans might be cruel, but it doesn’t look like they’re stopping Nikki Reed from enjoying her time with The Vampire Diaries hunk. According to Just Jared , she was recently photographed grinning from ear-to-ear while strolling to lunch with Ian on September 7 in West Hollywood. The couple reportedly “couldn’t keep their hands off each other” during their meal, and they were snapped trying to sneak a few smooches.
