Sonja Morgan may appear to be a happy-go-lucky single mother on The Real Housewives of New York , but she has certainly had her struggles. A few years ago, it was revealed that Morgan had filed for bankruptcy, as one of her investments had flopped. Sonja would possibly lose her beloved uptown townhouse and she was emotional whenever she talked about it.
But Sonja Morgan was never one to admit defeat. Since filing for bankruptcy, she has been fighting her way back to save her townhouse, and she has reportedly sold her mansion in France to help pay off those debts. And there is one other thing that has been keeping Morgan from a downward spiral.
According to a new Bravo report, Sonja Morgan is now revealing what keeps her happy and sane during these tough times. Sonja admits that she spends plenty of time with her charitable organizations to help those in need.
“That’s what keeps me sane,” Sonja explains during an interview with Hamptons Magazine .
“If you start thinking the grass is greener, you can lose your center… going upstate to the yoga centers in the Berkshires, reminds me that [the grass] is not greener… because that doesn’t make you happier. Having the charity work makes me feel good,” Morgan adds.
But Sonja Morgan hasn’t been going through this entire thing on her own. Morgan has had plenty of support from friends, family, and her intern. And when she needs some support or help, she knows where to find it.
“I have an open dinner policy,” Sonja revealed, adding, “Whoever is in my life and supports me, whether it’s my sister or the violin teacher or the interns, we all have dinner at 6 p.m. It could be my makeup artist or PR friends. They just drop in and we talk about what’s going on.”
But Morgan’s legal and financial issues are far from over. She continues to battle her personal bankruptcy issues with her trusted attorneys team behind her.
In addition, Morgan has been putting her past behind her. According to The Inquisitr , Sonja also decided to end her on-again off-again romance with Harry Dubin on this previous season of The Real Housewives of New York . She decided to give him back the ring, because she simply couldn’t trust him.
