It’s finally official; Billy Miller will be playing Jason Morgan on General Hospital . Fans have been dying for confirmation on these rumors and General Hospital spoilers for months now, and GH executive producer Frank Valentini has finally spilled the details. Miller’s The Young & the Restless fans are very excited to hear that Miller is going to be back on television screens again.
Valentini had stayed mum on the Jason Morgan casting rumors until now. Frank finally dished out the big General Hospital spoiler everybody was itching to get when he tweeted, “Billy Miller is joining the cast of @GeneralHospital in the role of Jason Morgan. Welcome to Port Charles Billy #GH.” Though some are worried he is pulling their legs, it looks like this news is for real.
When will Billy Miller first appear as Jason Morgan on GH ? That much hasn’t been revealed quite yet, but there have been indications that it will take some time yet. Though the groundwork is being laid for Morgan’s return, clearly, the latest General Hospital spoilers haven’t indicated anything imminent.
As She Knows Soaps notes, the Billy Miller as Jason Morgan rumors have been swirling for months. This casting started as wishful thinking by Miller fans, but it clearly grew and people have been buzzing about the possibility for some time now. A while back several tidbits came out indicating that Miller had signed with GH , then it was said he hadn’t . Apparently, Miller’s rep denied the rumors just a few weeks ago.
Miller left The Young & the Restless, in large part, because he wanted more freedom to do other projects. So, why sign on with GH ? It is believed that the General Hospital team was more willing than the Y&R team to give Billy the kind of offer that would allow him to still pursue other opportunities.
While many GH fans have made it clear they will have a hard time accepting anybody other than Steve Burton in the role, Burton is currently in the role of Dylan on The Young & the Restless, and he’s made it clear he’s happy to stick around Genoa City. The role of Jason Morgan was definitely one that would be hard to recast, but many think that if anybody can succeed at stepping into the role, it’s Miller.
