Country superstar Toby Keith has revealed that his newest hit Made in America almost didn’t make it onto his Clancy’s Tavern album.

Speaking to Billboard Keith revealed:

“About a year and a half ago, me and Bobby Pinson were writing that song and I said, ‘Man, I might have to put this thing on the back burner for awhile,” while he adds, “I’ve got ‘Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue,’ ‘American Soldier,’ I just did ‘American Ride’ (in 2009)…a lot of America songs. They’re just coming daily; if I did ’em all, that’s all I’d record. I thought I should leave about three or four years between ’em and let the last one breathe a little, y’know? I figured (‘Made in America’) could wait for the next (album).”

Apparently the only reason the song was left on the record was because music engineers in the studio and several of Keith’s fellow musicians insisted that it be included.

Fans of Toby Keith will be able to pick up his new album which it drops on Oct. 24 and the singer/songwriter will be available in both standard and deluxe editions. The deluxe disc option will come with four new “Incognito Bandito” tracks that were recorded during a live show at a New York City club in 2010.

It’s a good bet that Toby Keith will score another smash hit album as Forbes magazine recently called him the highest paid country star with revenues of $50 million in 2010, money that comes from his 11 I Love This Bar & Grill restaurants, a sponsorship with the Ford Motor company and millions of dollars in royalties.

Will you be picking up the new Toby Keith album when it drops in October?
