“Challenge! Tiger Woods” may sound like a new video game featuring the former number 1 golfer (and current number 49 golfer) in the world, but it’s actually a charity event being held in Japan this November.
Tiger Woods will golf against the top three female players in Japan at the Masters Golf Club in Miki City on November 1st. The event will raise money to aid earthquake victims. The AFP reports that the three areas damaged most during the March earthquake will receive 45 million yen ($575,000) each.
Woods will be playing against Miho Koga, Shinobu Moromizato and Rui Kitada during the “Challenge! Tiger Woods” charity golf outing.
In the world rankings released today, Tiger Woods dropped a few positions to 49th. This barely qualifies Tiger to compete in the Chevron World Challenge, which he will host at the beginning of December at the Sherwood Country Club in Southern California.
The Chevron World Challenge, which benefits Woods’ foundation, invites the top 50 players in the world to participate.
Woods didn’t qualify for the BMW championships, so he was a little worried about maintaining a top 50 spot and a place in his own tournament. Luckily for Tiger he only fell three spots and won’t have to beg to play in the Chevron World Challenge.
According to ESPN, Woods started the year ranked second in the world. Will Tiger ever retain the number one spot?
