When Daniel Bryan went down with his devastating neck injury, the WWE had to change everything. When I say everything, Bryan’s injury turned the WWE’s plans upside-down. A new report came out via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that clarifies Bryan’s significance to the WWE’s plans towards WrestleMania 31.

In regards to recent rumors of Vince McMahon and Triple H being at odds over who will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, Roman Reigns or The Rock , Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently noted that Reigns vs. Lesnar was decided on either shortly before or shortly after WrestleMania XXX. Plans are always subject to change but it looks like Reigns will get his title shot next year.

Lesnar’s original opponent at SummerSlam and Night of Champions consisted of Bryan, but since the injury took place, all of the plans were changed last-minute. The idea was to have Lesnar destroy everyone’s hopes and dreams with a destruction of Bryan and then have Roman Reigns come in and save the day.

Some wrestling analysts even believe that Reigns isn’t ready to be the WWE World Heavyweight championship. While everybody is allowed to have his or her own opinion, Reigns not being ready isn’t a clear theory. His charisma is off the charts. Reigns can wrestle and draw in a big way.

Daniel Bryan has plenty of healing to do until he returns to the WWE. After the announcement came out about a potential Tommy John surgery, the WWE Universe let out one simultaneous sigh.

Bryan was at the top of the world after WrestleMania 30. Even the critics stood up and cheered for the Aberdeen, Washington-native. One man that broke through all of the roadblocks finally conquered his lifelong dream. Lesnar was going to beat Bryan, but that doesn’t take away what he achieved in the long run.

Lesnar and Cena will continue to Night of Champions, and as the report suggests, Lesnar’s annihilation of the former-WWE champion will occur for the second pay-per-view in a row.

WWE is cashing in on Lesnar’s dominance, that maybe having Bryan in the original slot would’ve killed his push to the top. Then again, if you look at the flipside of the situation, Lesnar’s heel status would’ve tripled. At the end of the Cena match at SummerSlam, people were cheering for Lesnar. John Cena was supposed to be the face, and Lesnar the heel.

While Lesnar vs. Reigns should take place at Wrestlemania 31; WWE still has work to do. Luckily, they have time to push Reigns to the moon and have him remain there for the foreseeable future.
