Lady Gaga posted a picture on Instagram of the crowd at her July 4th performance at Festival D’été in Quebec, Canada.
Unfortunately, the crowd pictured wasn’t at a Lady Gaga concert. According to Mediaite , the crowd belonged to Metallica . The fans in the picture attended a Metallica gig at Festival D’été in Quebec, Canada in 2011.
Lady Gaga wrote on the picture:
“Those little dots are fans, and that’s our stage and lights beaming from the center. Unreal 90,000 ppl showed up! What a magical night.”
Those aren’t the 90k fans that attended the Lady Gaga concert, however, they’re the 130k fans from the Metallica show at the same venue three years earlier.
According to GossipCop, after various blogs and commenters on Lady Gaga’s Instagram account called foul, Lady Gaga was quick to correct the mistake on Twitter:

Though Lady Gaga claimed the posted picture of the Metallica concert was a mistake, naysayers claimed that she was trying to bolster the crowd count of her own performance with the picture. In response to that, Lady Gaga took a shot at the fans of her nemesis, Madonna, who famously criticized Lady Gaga in 2012 for the similarities between Lady Gaga’s song, Born this Way and the Madonna hit, Express Yourself , in yet another tweet:

Lady Gaga is no stranger to metal and hard rock. Earlier this year, Lady Gaga toured with New York City rockers, The Dirty Pearls , and is a huge fan of the metal band, Anthrax .
Despite the apparent mistake of posting Metallica’s crowd picture, Lady Gaga didn’t hesitate to quote new numbers for another concert a day after the Quebec show on her Twitter account:

Lady Gaga is currently in the midst of her Art Pop Ball summer concert tour. Continuing across North America through August, she will then perform dates in Japan, Australia, Dubai, Israel, Turkey, and Greece.
This fall, Lady Gaga will tour through Europe, starting in Belgium on September 23rd, and finishing in Paris on November 24th.
