Lana Del Rey has worryingly proclaimed that she wishes she was already dead.

During an in-depth interview with The Guardian newspaper Del Rey declared, “I wish I was dead already.” These words were provoked after Del Rey began to talk about her musical heroes, which include Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain.

It was then pointed out that these stars are all linked by death, and when she was asked if she thought an early demise was alluring, she noted, “I don’t know. Ummmm, yeah.”

After her interviewer tried to dissuade her from this notion, Del Rey insisted, “But I do. I do! I don’t want to have to keep doing this. But I am.”

Del Rey was then asked specifically what she didn’t want to continue to do, and she then alarmingly added, “Everything. That’s just how I feel. If it wasn’t that way, then I wouldn’t say it. I would be scared if I knew [death] was coming, but…”

Throughout her exchange Del Rey made numerous other worrying comments that highlighted her fragile mental state. “Family members will come on the road with me and say: ‘Wow, your life is just like a movie!’” she remarked. “And I’m like: ‘Yeah, a really f*****-up movie.’”

She also admitted that she “never felt any of the enjoyment” that came with the success of her song “Video Games”, stating, “It was all bad, all of it.”

Lana Del Rey’s new album, Ultraviolence , is set to be released next week, and even though she has previously teased that she wouldn’t produce a follow-up record because she’d “already said everything [she] wanted to say.”

The singer then confirmed that she hasn’t actually changed her mind. “I mean, I still feel that way,” she remarked. “But with this album I felt less like I had to chronicle my journeys and more like I could just recount snippets in my recent past that felt exhilarating to me.”

Del Rey , who was born Lizzy Grant, was allegedly paid $2.8million to sing at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding in Florence last month. It’s believed that she belted out three songs at the ceremony, two of which were “Summertime Sadness” and” Young and Beautiful,” and she even posed for photos with the entire Kardashian klan too, which were then posted to Twitter:
