Kelli Bordeaux, who was assigned to the 601st Area Support Medical Company at Fort Bragg and went missing more than two years ago, has been found dead just miles away from the bar where she was last seen.

Nicholas Holbert has already been arrested in connection with Bordeaux’s disappearance. Col. Christian Karsner, chief of staff at Task Force Bragg, said in a statement, “We are deeply saddened that the discovery of the apparent remains of Army Spc. Kelli Bordeaux now concludes our final hopes of her returning safely.”

Kelli Bordeaux was an asset to her country and was known as a true patriot. She is missed terribly by the people who loved her, including her fellow soldiers.

Her battalion commander, Lt. Col. Heather A. Kness, also released a statement following the announcement that Kelli had been found, saying, “She and her family have remained close in our hearts since Kelli last stood in our formation in April 2012. We honor her memory and will always remember her vibrant spirit, her love of life and her loyal and dedicated service to our Army and nation as a combat medic.”

Back in April 2012 Kelli Bordeaux disappeared after a night’s drinking at a karaoke bar, called the Froggy Bottoms Bar, on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. Following her disappearance, police questioned the suspect in custody, Holbert, a registered sex offender who had been seen with her that night.

Holbert, who worked at the Froggy Bottoms Bar, told police when questioned that he had given Kelli a ride home that night. Her body was found about three miles away from the bar, according to Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock , who spoke at a news conference on Wednesday.

The police have now confirmed that the location where Kelli Bordeaux’s body was found is an active crime scene, and they are continuing with their investigations in order to obtain more evidence.
