When you open a pet store in an area largely populated with bars you not only have to put up with drunk people all the time, you have to put up with drunk people who want to buy a puppy and that’s why a store in New York City’s West Village has started a new policy: “No Puppies For Drunks.”

According to the stores owner:

“We have to tell them to come back the next day and most of the time they never come back.”

Apparently the practice of banning drunk pooch purchasing isn’t new, two other shops have had to do the same since apparently New Yorkers are no longer satisfied with just another drunken tattoo and have moved on to drunken puppy purchasing.

Have you ever woken up from a night of binge drinking with a puppy next to you in your bed?
