Billy Zane has been one of the most eligible celebrity bachelors in Hollywood for nearly two decades. However, it appears that classification may be changing relatively soon. The famed Titanic actor has apparently been shot by cupid’s arrow, because his heart has definitely been captured by one woman – Candace Neil.
The 48-year-old actor recently sat down for an interview with Chicago Sun-Times publication, Splash magazine. During the interview, the actor discussed a number of topics like some of his upcoming projects including the new Comedy Central series Checked Out and the live Broadway production of The Sound of Music .
The Dead Calm actor also shared details about his personal life. He expressed that the role of Captain Georg von Trapp in The Sound of Music actually caught his attention because the character’s transition in the musical mirrors elements of his own life. Zane went on to explain the transformation of his own life, which began with the birth of his first child Ava Katherine in February of 2011. Just three months ago, Zane and Neil also welcomed their second daughter and he couldn’t be more happy than he is right now.
He also accredited Neil for making their relocation to Chicago from Los Angeles a smooth transition. Zane doted on the former model, who he feels is the best companion he could ever have. Its obvious that he speaks straight from the heart when talking about Neil.
Here’s what he had to say about the number one lady in his life:
“Candice is the most dedicated and generous mother and partner I could have ever wished for,” Zane said. Though they aren’t married yet, he also expressed that she’s already his wife. “I refer to her as my wife, she calls me her husband. But there’ll be a ceremony as soon as the schedule lightens up for both of us.” And he marvels at the strength of their relationship. “Balance comes from pulling your weight when the bar is set high by your partner. When [she] makes it seem effortless, it’s a revelation … [It’s] magic.”
Although the happy couple has yet to set an official date for a wedding, its quite obvious that Zane and Neil will be tying the knot sometime in the near future.
