Halle Berry has been a well loved sex icon in Hollywood for many years, so people wondered what would become of that status after she gave birth to her son, Maceo five months ago.
She spoke to Extra about her post-pregnancy weight loss and revealed some secrets about how to lose weight after giving birth: “Every mother should breastfeed,” Berry said, adding: “It’s the quickest way to shed the initial weight, and then you have to eat right.”
Halle Berry went on to open up about how much the birth of Maceo , her second child, means to her: “I just feel great because I have another baby. I never thought that at my stage in life another baby — and a baby boy — was coming to me, so yeah, I’m blessed.”
Often, introducing a new baby to household where a young child already lives can be problematic and is a real challenge that some parents must learn to overcome.
Fortunately for Halle Berry, her daughter, 5-year-old Nahla, is adjusting well to the reality of a baby on her turf:
“She’s very serious about her big sister role,” Berry revealed. “It’s like one of her doll babies came alive. She gets to take care of him, feed him, change his diapers, play with him, dress him up in different clothes like five times a day because she can, so she loves it.”
Finally, Berry spoke about the challenges she faces juggling her two young children with her career. Being extremely busy filming CBS’s sci-fi thriller Extant leaves little time for the kids.
She spoke about her husband, Oliver Martinez’s new role in ABC’s Revenge :
“I watched his premiere. I’m going to follow his little arc along. I’m very, very proud of him. I’m trying to find the balance. My baby’s always with me on the set. I bring my daughter after school. I have a nursery there and a playroom. I try to make it as nice as I can,” Berry said.
