Citizens in the English village of Woodland have a problem, there’s a mysterious hum that starts at midnight each day and continues until 4am and they have no idea where it’s coming from.

According to residents in the area the hum sounds like a car engine and at time can shake bed frames. One resident of the town tells the Telegraph.:

“It’s not tinnitus, that’s a high pitched sound and this is very low,” and “If I put my fingers in my ears it stops, so I know it’s not in my head.”

The town of 300 is not the first to experience such a strange phenomenon, in the 1970s a hum in Bristol led to sleeplessness, nosebleeds and headaches and while that hum eventually went away the cause of it was never discovered.
