Selena Gomez’s recent stint in rehab is still shrouded in mystery, with separate reports blaming exhaustion, substance abuse and Justin Bieber for her period of recuperation.

Entertainment Wise have reported that Bieber and his posse are actually laughing at recent claims that Selena went into rehab because of her split from the divisive pop-star. A source noted that Gomez was “always the drunk” at the party, and they even revealed that Selena “smokes as much weed as the guys and sometimes outdoes them,” which is what lead to her seek help.

So why has Bieber been blamed for Gomez’s recent issues? They believe that her parents have conspired to blame him because, simply put, they “hate him.” The insider also declared that Bieber is actually happy about the demise of his relationship with Gomez, because she was too “high maintenance.”

Meanwhile, Billboard have blamed exhaustion for Gomez’s recent two-week stay at Dawn at the Meadows treatment center in Arizona. In fact, rather than being a time of turbulence for the Spring Breaker’s actress and her friends, they have actually entitled her stay there last month, “Project Wellness.”

The source told Billboard, “She was burnt out after a relentless year of back-to-back films, concerts, TV, touring and all the promotional work that goes along with it. She needed a break.” They also declared that Gomez wasn’t “hooked to booze, Ambien and pot,” and she was just trying to “get healthy.”

The anonymous tipster continued, “She’s not that girl. Does she party and have the occasional joint? Yes. Does she drink when she goes out? Yes. But she’s not struggling with drug addiction or alcoholism. I’ve never seen her out of control. There’s no needle dangling out of her arm.”

As The Inquisitr reported on Thursday, early reports suggested that Gomez secretly entered the rehab facility in January because she needed help “letting go” of her former relationship with Bieber.

The program that she signed up for treats “emerging adults aged 18-26 who struggle with emotional trauma, addiction, or dual diagnosis concerns.” Selena only stayed for two weeks though because, according to E! News, she wasn’t “battling the type of issues that would be considered more detrimental to her physical and mental health.”

Despite this confusion, Gomez’s old pal, Demi Lovato sent her love and adulation to her via E! News, stating, “Selena is… I’ve known her for 14 years and we’ve been best friends. That’s all of her business, and I just want to let her do her thing. And, yeah, she’s amazing. I love her.
