Giada De Laurentiis made her modeling debut as part of New York’s Fashion Week Thursday evening. The celebrity chef made a pass down the runway at the Heart Truth Dress Collection show according to E! Online .
Giada De Laurentiis is a known Food Network personality with shows such as Giada at Home and Food Network Star . Over the years, Giada has become a household name. According to her web page, she was born in Rome and grew up in a large Italian family.
While Giada is known for her impeccable skills in the kitchen, that doesn’t necessarily mean she is superwoman. In fact, The Inquisitr recently reported on an on-air accident where the cook sliced her hand while performing live on the Food Network .
The report stated that Giada, along with chefs Bobby Flay, Ina Garten, and Alton Brown were working the annual Thanksgiving Live Special on the Food Network during the time of the accident. A witness told Radar Online exclusively: “She seemed to go pale and got very quiet putting pressure on it and whispering to Ina that it was bad. She looked like she was about to faint.”
The show quickly went to commercials, and when it returned, Alton Brown informed viewers that Giada de Laurentiis had gone to get medical attention. But as they always say, the show must go on! According to The Inquisitr , Giada reappeared some 15 minutes later with a bandaged hand telling viewers and her fellow chefs that the cut had bled quite a bit, but with a cold compress and lots of pressure, the on-set medic had gotten it to stop.
Giada told E! Online that she was very excited to make her way down the catwalk Thursday, and even though she was excited, she did admit she was a tad bit nervous. She even admit that she had practiced on her own for days saying that she didn’t want to ask for help because she wanted it to be her own experience.
“I’m super excited; I’ve never done this before. I used to think being a model and walking the runway was an easy job, but I have changed my mind. I have so much respect for those women because it’s a tough job!” the TV star shared with a bright smile.
According to UPI, Giada rocked a cleavage bearing Carolina Herrera gown during her walk down the runway, and the Italian-born chef sure did look beautiful, just check her out for yourself:
