The Battlefield 4 Xbox One patch was finally released today, and it fixes a lot of the issues gamers have been having with EA DICE’s ambitious shooter.

The idea behind Battlefield 4 was to get away from the linear gameplay used a lot of times in Call of Duty , focusing more on multiplayer tactical warfare. The sheer depth of the gameplay and destructible environments seemed like an instant win, but it seemed the game launched before it could be finished.

It remains to be seen if today’s fix will be enough to make Battlefield 4 gamers more eager to stick with it, but EA DICE has released a list of problems today’s patch will fix. DICE stated on the game’s official blog, “We have started rolling out a new Battlefield 4 update for Xbox One. You may experience some downtime while this update is being deployed.”

Servers can only do so much, and as Electronic Arts had discovered at least twice in 2013, big releases can really test the limits.

The list of fixes included in the Battlefield 4 Xbox One patch is below:

  • Various improvements to general stability .
  • The “sound loop crash.”

  • Map flickering in Rogue Transmission and Operation Locker.
  • Lancang Dam’s tendency to have the player spawn under the map.
  • Container collision detection, so grenades no longer bounce off of open doors.
  • Camera glitches when switching weapons while moving in crouch.
  • Stealth Jet 20mm cannons now cause 25 percent more damage.
  • Lower health vehicles now repair more slowly.
  • The M1 Abrams Coaxial HMG ammo box doesn’t block the camera any more.
  • Friendly markers not always showing up, resulting in players shooting teammates.
  • Health card not updating when soldiers are hurt.
  • Corrupt save files.

There are bound to be more issues after the Battlefield 4 Xbox One patch is fully deployed, but now the game is a little more playable. We can only hope they release Titanfall with less glitches and a more stable server presence.
