Everly Tatum may still be a tiny bundle of a baby, but the infant already has an amazing ability — she can turn Hollywood tough guy Channing Tatum into a blubbery mess.
The daughter of Channing and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum is just shy of eight months old, but already she’s transformed their lives. Channing has taken to fatherhood with a passion, speaking often of his baby girl and the changes she’s brought to his life.
It started even before she was born. Watching the birth was a moving and even traumatic experience for Channing, who said he was reduced to tears more than once when he saw the pain his wife was going through.
“I probably went to the bathroom four times and had a crying fit,” he said. “Like, I’m just like, I don’t know what to do!”
Since his daughter’s birth, Channing Tatum has played doting father to Everly Tatum. While she was still a newborn, he was spotted walking through Los Angeles International Airport holding the baby girl in a sling on his chest.
After Everly was born, Channing had a busy stretch of months as he was on the road promoting his action flick White House Down, which he said made him cherish his time with the baby girl that much more.
“I’m away from her for 12-13 hours and I feel like I come home and I feel like she’s changed—like her face looks different,” he told E! News . “You feel like every minute that you miss is horrible.”
But though Channing Tatum often plays a tough guy in movies, he said he’s not afraid to express his love for the little girl in his life.
“I’ve never been so excited when something poos,” he said last year on Good Morning America . “I just get so amped up because I’m in the game now. The mom does so much of the early work those first few weeks and I’m just like, ‘Put me in the game. Put me in the game.’ I’ve gotten so good at like changing diapers, swaddling and then get it back before she cries.”
Everly Tatum has sparked a change in her mother too, albeit a more physical one. Jenna Dewan-Tatum has made it her mission to transform her post-baby body, and this week debuted her new size zero frame .
