When Lady Gaga and Chicago Fire’s Taylor Kinney’s relationship was revealed, not many people understood how the two shared a common ground. Kinney, who she met on the set of her music video “You and I” seemed like an all American guy, while Gaga’s reputation was anything but with her “crazy” costumes and theatrical behavior. To many it seemed like a mismatch.
Despite recent break up rumors Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney are still going strong. The “Applause” performance artist usually keeps her private life off-limits for discussion, and lets her music speak for itself. However, Ellen DeGeneres knows a thing or two about getting out a bit of gossip through her congenial ways.
Audience members saw a very different Lady Gaga when she took a seat on Ellen DeGeneres’ show. Completely stripped down from her elaborate costumes, Gaga joined DeGeneres to talk about her new album Artpop , but also spoke about her love of two years Taylor Kinney. Surprisingly enough, she spoke about what makes their relationship work. It turns out that Gaga and Kinney have a lot more in common than one would think.
Lady Gaga has said that her beau is a “hidden weirdo.” Elaborating on her other half, she said, “He is extremely strange, actually. We complement each other’s weirdness. That’s actually one of the first things he ever said to me. It’s a Dr. Seuss quote. You find in someone else a compatible weirdness.”
Although she’s known for looking pretty different from the norm on most days, Gaga said their first meeting on the set of “You and I” was a little awkward because of her appearance.
“I’ve got these pins sticking out of my head and I’m wearing cork and I’ve got no hair and I’m bald. I mean, why he found me attractive just completely behooves me. We were in the middle of this scene and I remember that he kissed me and it wasn’t scripted for him to kiss me. I was sort of like, ‘Uh, you know, was that real or was that fake?’ And he just didn’t really say anything, and that was fine by me and we just kept filming.”
It looks like Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney are going to go the distance.
