Two men have been arrested in last month’s shooting death of Hot 97 and 106 & Park ‘s DJ Megatron .
Megatron was gunned down near his Staten Island home in the early morning hours of March 28th. The DJ, real name Corey McGriff, left his small son at home unattended during a brief store trip when he was shot and killed. Police initially said the murder was not an attempted robbery, and it was speculated the incident could have been due to a dispute over an unpaid debt.
An unnamed law enforcement official has told press William Williams, 21, and Richard Cromwell, 20, have been arrested for Megatron’s killing, and that the crime turned out to likely be a robbery gone awry. The suspects are accused of stealing one of the man’s two cellphones, an inexpensive watch that was a gift from his daughter, and possibly a small bag of marijuana, as Megatron was alleged to have purchased some but none was found on his body when it was discovered by police.
Megatron’s funeral was held Tuesday.
