The company unveiled the iPad Air and a second generation iPad Mini featuring the dazzling retina display.

According to CBS , the iPad Air is just 7.5 mm thin, 43% thinner than the previous generation, and weighs 1 pound. The new generation will also include a 5 megapixel camera, 1080 pHD video, and a 9.7 inch Retina Display.

Apple senior vice president Phil Schiller said : “This is our biggest leap forward ever with a full-size iPad.”

As expected, the iPad Air will go on sale in time for the Holiday shopping season. The NY Times reports that the latest generation will hit stores on November 1 for $499.
