Sam Elliott has been cast in Parks and Recreation, where he will star alongside Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson, a decision which has left many television viewers wondering if it will be too much mustache for the network to handle.
Elliott joins Henry Winkler and Heidi Klum, who will play Jean-Ralphio’s father and the mayor of a small town in Denmark, respectively, as the latest addition to the comedy series which is set in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana, and revolves around the antics of Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope, an upbeat bureaucrat who works in the parks department.
Elliott is set to star as the doppelgänger to Ron Swanson, who works in the neighboring town of Eagleton. Also starring in the episode is Kristen Bell, who is the counterpart of Leslie Knope, only she is “richer and better dressed.”
Offerman’s Ron Swanson has developed into a cult character on the show due to the fact that, despite being the director of the parks and recreation department of Pawnee, Indiana, he is a libertarian that believes in small government and doesn’t actually think that the parks department should exist.
Swanson loves hunting, meat, whiskey, and various breakfast foods, plus women called Tammy as he has been married to two women with the moniker.

Parks and Recreation has recently looked to move out of Pawnee by filming an hour long special in London, England, The entire cast has been seen in the English capital, where they have filmed various scenes around landmarks in the city.
Chris Pratt and Aubrey Plaza, who star as the married couple, Andy Dwyer and April Ludgate , in the comedy were recently spotted kissing on the London Eye.
