It’s official — Adrienne Bailon has split from her fiance Lenny Santiago, seven months after they announced their engagement.
According to Us Weekly , the former Cheetah Girl actress has decided to part ways with her fiance of seven months. Bailon and the Roc Nation exec dated for six years before becoming engaged.
Back in February, Us Weekly spoke to Adrienne Bailon about the exciting news of her engagement to Lenny.
At the time she said, “I am so excited to be marrying my best friend.”
She continued, “There’s nothing like having someone that makes you laugh, that encourages you, and motivates you… He’s such an incredible person and they say there’s always a great man behind a great woman and I say the same for him. He’s been that great motivation behind everything I do.”
As of right now, we don’t know what lead to the split, but regardless, it looks like this one is amicable.
In a statement to Us Weekly , Adrienne said of her split from Santiago, “I am, of course, sad that things didn’t go as we planned, but we still remain close friends. Six years is a long time to be together, but we had to make the decision to go with our hearts and not be embarrassed or afraid of change. He absolutely helped make me a better person and I will forever cherish the time we shared together.”
Although Adrienne is understandably upset about the breakup, it sounds like she is focused on the future.
“Right now I am taking time for myself and I’m glad to be back at work with my favorite ladies and the incredible crew of The Real. Life lessons are hard but I’m grateful that I have a platform to share my journey and hopefully encourage, inspire, or just let women know they are not alone and to never give up on finding love. I still believe. I feel so blessed and excited for the new season of The Real and I truly appreciate the support from everyone!”
The Real is a talk show that airs five days a week. It’s reminiscent to ABC’s The View in that it’s a talk/variety show. Adrienne shares the table with Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, and Jeannie Mai.
Prior to her relationship with Santiago, Bailon dated Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Rob Kardashian for two years before the two decided to call it quits.
