A teen girl in Houston, Texas, was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon after using an online dating service to set a man up to be shot and robbed.
On June 29, 18-year-old Brittany Davis, who goes by the name of Shayye, asked an unidentified man to meet her at El Sol Brillante Apartments in Sierra Blanca after the two connected on a popular dating site called Plenty of Fish, according to Click 2 Houston .

Upon his arrival, the pair talked outside at the bottom of the stairway for a while before she received a suspicious phone call and told someone her location.
After getting off the call, she walked off and two armed men approached the man, attempting to rob the victim of his money. He told the two men that he didn’t have any, and that’s when they began searching him. Once they realized he wasn’t lying, the two began to argue with Davis about bringing them a man who didn’t have any money.
Before she could reply, the two armed men ordered the victim to walk to his car and as he was doing so, they shot him in the chest. One of the men said, “He’s dead,” after watching the victim fall to the ground.
Davis and the two armed men quickly took off on foot.
Once the three culprits were out of site, the victim made his way to his vehicle, where he called for Houston police. He drove off, but didn’t make it very far, as he was struggling to breathe. He pulled over and awaited a paramedic’s arrival.
When Harris County police arrived at the scene, they began interviewing witnesses and discovered that a woman who went by the name of “Shayye” lived in the apartment complex.
They were able to do a photo lineup, where the victim was able to identify Davis as the teen who lured him to her apartment complex and set him up to be shot and robbed.
“It’s scary to know that this kind of stuff happens anywhere in the world. It’s dangerous now. I rarely get on the internet,” a neighbor said who wished to be unnamed. “Why would you show up to a place that you don’t know the person? I feel that’s a negative right there. To even engage in something like that, you don’t know who you’re going to walk upon. You don’t know who’s going to be on the receiving end.”
Davis was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. She is currently being held at the Harris County jail with a set bond of $30,000.
