Sean Parker has made a name for himself by helping launch both Napster and Facebook into the social conscience and this week he’s making another name for himself by speaking out against Occupy Wall Street protesters who have been on the offensive against millionaires who they call the 1%.

In Tweeted sent on Thursday the billionare internet tycoon said:

“I have a whole new set of problems to deal with now: security, extortion attempts, kidnapping threats, death threats, etc. Life better b4?”

When offering his direct thoughts about OWS he tweeted:

“You guys are really attacking me for being the 1%? I was broke and couch surging just a few years ago.”

Parker then took the focus off himself and tweetted:

“The Problem is not the wealthy or even super wealthy, the problem is too much finance. We need less Wall St. and more Main St.”

The former Facebook President did concede that he should be paying more taxes, he told the San Francisco Bay Guardian earlier in the week:

“I believe strongly in higher taxes, in particular for the wealthy and super wealthy.” Parker added, “I am paying far too little in taxes at the moment, in particular on capital gains which should have been increases after the Bush Era.”

With the super rich helping create the policies that allow them to find loopholes in the tax system it’s one thing to be reach and say you should be paying more taxes and it’s another thing entirely to do anything about it. Do you think Sean Parker is right? Should OWS focus more on going after government and less time attacking the 1% directly?
