Courteney Cox and her fiance Johnny McDaid – who performs with the band Snow Patrol – are said to be considering adoption, according to several reports . Speaking about the adoption consideration, a source told Closer that the pair still have a long way to go before they could officially adopt a child, but that Cox is looking forward to being a mother again. Cox, now 50, has a 10 year old child called Coco with ex-husband David Arquette.
“Courteney and Johnny see adoption as the perfect way to add to their family, while also doing something good for a child who needs a loving home. They still have a long way to go before they can officially adopt, but Courteney can’t wait to be a mum again. She’s so excited that she’s already started making plans for a nursery at their Malibu beach house. “
The former Friends star had to undergo IVF treatment over a decade ago in order to concieve Coco, so it seems logical that she and her fiance would rather adopt than go through the process again. The couple, who have been engaged for the past several months, are set to tie the knot at some point this year, although neither Cox nor McDaid have confirmed a date for the wedding ceremony. According to Closer , 50-year-old Courteney Cox and 38-year-old Johnny McDaid just couldn’t compromise while planning their big day – their ideas of a dream wedding were just too different to meld together. So instead of having one wedding that they both aren’t entirely happy with, they’re having two ceremonies, as The Inquisitr has previously reported .
According to some sources , Courteney’s daughter Coco is currently taking singing lessons in order to learn a song for the couple’s wedding, and Ed Sheeran – who introduced the couple in the first place – is set to make some form of appearance at the ceremony, possibly as either the best man or purely as a guest and singer.
During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Courteney Cox said that Johnny McDaid even let Coco help him pop the question.
“They made a plan to count down from three, and when they got to one, he was gonna get down on his knee and say, ‘Will you marry me?’ and she was gonna say, ‘Will you marry him?’ They planned it out, they found the perfect tree, with three branches that led to one trunk — it was beautiful.”
