It seems that a week doesn’t pass without news from Grey’s Anatomy concerning the comings, goings, or contract renewals of cast members. This week’s Grey’s news belongs to Jessica Capshaw, also known as Dr. Arizona Robbins, who has extended her contract for another three years.
Dr. Arizona Robbins first showed up on Grey’s Anatomy in season five, and is currently navigating a relationship meltdown with her wife Dr. Callie Torres. The will-they-or-won’t-they of the Callie/Arizona relationship has kept viewers tuned in, hoping that this favorite Grey’s Anatomy marriage can make it.

Their relationship took a tumble when Arizona suggested taking a break in therapy. It backfired when Callie found the time apart refreshing .
“The last 30 days have taught me so much,” Callie said. “But from the minute I sat down I felt I was going to be suffocated. The last several weeks I have laughed more, enjoyed more and I finally feel free. And by being free, I can see that constantly trying to fix this is the thing that’s been killing me slowly. And I don’t want to do it anymore and I don’t want to fix us anymore…”
Capshaw’s new deal to stay on Grey’s Anatomy gives viewers hope that the doctors can work out their differences.
Last month, the Inquisitr reported that Capshaw was teasing a few spoilers for her character, and for a few others on the cast of Grey’s Anatomy . She teased that big things were coming for Arizona in season 12, and that a scene that indicated that her character was about to move on was cut from the season finale last month.

So what does Jessica Capshaw hope will happen on Grey’s Anatomy for the couple dubbed “Calzona? ”
“Only because they had to go through so much to make that decision to be apart, it’s so hard to think about them being together. They’re just getting to the point where that’s all good. I would feel bad if they then took steps backwards and ended up in a relationship that was super challenging,” she said, adding that she understands why fans will always root for Calzona. “Everyone longs for the beginning, I get that, you want them to go back to the beginning, but you can’t do that with anything in life.”
