Carrie Fisher’s tragic death just after Christmas shook fans of her work to the core, especially because it was so sudden. To make matters worse, Carrie’s mother, beloved actress Debbie Reynolds, passed away just a day after her of a stroke. This left Carrie’s daughter, actress Billie Lourd, all alone and heavily distraught, as she was very close to both women throughout her life.

An autopsy on Carrie Fisher’s body, which was released last month, revealed that the Star Wars actress had large amounts of illegal drugs in her system, which her daughter was not surprised to hear. According to Billie Lourd, her mother suffered from mental health difficulties her entire life and often used drugs to self-medicate.

The star’s assets will be given to Billie Lourd in a trust. They include several bank accounts, a 2016 Tesla S, full ownership of several LLCs, and a life insurance policy. Debbie Reynolds’ home is currently up for sale for $18 million, and when sold, the money will also be absorbed into the trust and go to Lourd.

Billie Lourd will also inherit the rights to Carrie Fisher’s likeness and her intellectual property. She will also continue to receive royalties from Carrie’s books, specials, trademarks, and copyrights for the rest of her life.

There will be an auction in September to sell some of Carrie Fisher’s memorabilia, which has been organised by her brother, Todd. The money earned will go to Debbie Reynolds’ charity, The Thalians, which helps traumatized veterans get mental health support after they have fought in wars. Some of the money will also go to The JED Foundation, which works to prevent suicide.

Carrie Fisher struggled with mental health issues for most of her life. She suffered a heart attack as a result of her drug use on December 23 during a flight from London to Los Angeles.

The star had previously stated that she wanted her ashes placed in a giant Prozac bottle and to be buried in it. Her family honored that wish and buried the Prozac bottle with the remains of Debbie Reynolds so that the pair can be together for eternity.
