Do you hear Carole King music in your head? Well, Gilmore Girls is coming back, this time to Netflix, which seems to be the home of television revivals, and the reincarnation of Gilmore Girls should be great. According to TV Line , the whole original cast is on board to reprise their roles in the series to move on with time.

“Sources confirm that Netflix has closed a deal with Warner Bros. for a limited-series revival of Gilmore Girls penned by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino.”

Right now, the plan is for four 90 minute installments that will bring fans up to date on the world of all things Gilmore.

And the best part? Sherman-Palladino, who launched the series, is back to put her own twist back on Gilmore Girls . She verified that she wouldn’t come back unless it could be done right.

“It would have to be the right everything — the right format, the right timing,” she said. “If it ever happened, I promise we’ll do it correctly.”

This makes diehard fans even more confident that they can jump in and enjoy the story as it continues.

Variety said that fans will finally get to take that trip back to Stars Hollow that they have been hoping for. The only cast mate that cannot return is Edward Hermann, who passed away last year. Hermann had played the father of the main character, Lorelai Gilmore, and the grandfather of Rory Gilmore. As to how we will find the characters, there is no word yet. Will we find Lorelai and Luke together? Will Rory be married? We don’t know yet, but fans are hopeful that they will all be ensconced in Stars Hollow.

The Atlantic believes that Sherman-Palladino has just been waiting for a comeback, and a chance to right the wrongs that happened when she left before the last season over a contract dispute.

“But the chance for redemption is a fun bonus storyline, and Gilmore Girls fans are an intense bunch.”

This goes without saying. With the full series of Gilmore Girls already available on Netflix, the network has seen how popular it is, and how many times episodes are viewed over and over again by the same people.

“When Gilmore Girls wrapped up in 2007, the concept of a revival, or even a goodbye movie, seemed ludicrous. With the rise of Netflix’s nostalgia machine, it became inevitable.”

And the inevitable is finally here, but filming has not yet started. Most of the usual suspects from Gilmore Girls have gone on to bigger and better things, most notably Melissa McCarthy, who played chef and best friend/sidekick Suki. Fans are hoping that she can clear her schedule and make an appearance in Gilmore Girls redux.

But the most important thing to fans, according to Fusion , is that Gilmore Girls is coming back , and the folks you most want to see are signed up.

“That’s right–Rory, Lorelai, Emily and Luke are CONFIRMED. The only thing this fan wants to know though is whether Rory’s best boyfriend (bad boy turned novelist Jess, obviously) will be coming back as well. Let me know when Milo Ventimiglia is on board–then I’ll start breaking out the huge cups of coffee to celebrate.”

So the debate over who will be the man in Rory’s life has begun, and the binge watching of the original series has begun.
