As the release date for Batman: Arkham Knight draws closer, the final installment of the Arkham series by Rocksteady only continues to get more interesting.
Last summer at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that anyone who pre-ordered the Batman: Arkham Knight game would be able to play Red Hood in a story pack exclusive to pre-order buyers. Red Hood, an alias used by several Batman antagonists in the comics, is most popularly used by Jason Todd, a young ward of Batman’s and a previous Robin who is killed at the hands of Joker and later resurrected by Talia al Ghul using the Lazarus Pit. However, if that wasn’t enough, it was also revealed that you could play as the villainous Harley Quinn in several challenges, but not much more was revealed.
Now Amazon has updated the game information to include a blurb about what players can expect when taking up the role of Miss Quinn in the Batman: Arkham Knight game.
“For the first time in the Arkham series take on the role of Joker’s psychotic side-kick Harley Quinn and wreak havoc inside the Blüdhaven Police Department. With this exclusive Story Pack experience events in the lead-up to Arkham Knight as you infiltrate Blüdhaven to rescue your partner in crime: Poison Ivy. Delve deep into Harley’s demented nature and utilize her devastating baseball bat to smash, crash and bash your way to a friend very much in need.”
With the final installment coming gamers’ way this June, Rocksteady has decided to make this Batman game even more special. Scarecrow will be back to wreak havoc on Gotham, and the citizens only have one man who can stop him and the flood of villainous characters that will be let loose. For the first time, Batman: Arkham Knight will allow players to drive the Batmobile around the area of gameplay and will be able to transform the car from high-speed pursuit mode to military grade battle mode. Players will be able to interact with the vehicles on-board gadgets and it augments Batman’s existing gadgets and tech, integrating them into one seamless experience.
With the new mature rating that this game has been given , many fans have been left wondering how dark the story will get, given the other games that have been released by Rocksteady Studios, or if the industry is just getting more strict on labeling the content.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be available in stores on June 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
