A Las Vegas man has been arrested in the city’s first homicide of the new year.

Police said 40-year-old Richard Magdayo Dahan walked into the lobby of Northwest Area Command Friday around 2:49 pm, signed in, and waited about 20 minutes before being called to the counter. Dahan told a station employee that he had committed a crime and killed his wife. He was taken into custody and patrol officers were dispatched to his residence in the 6500 block of Vegas Drive. After receiving no response, officials forcibly entered the apartment where they discovered the body of an Asian female who appeared to have died from multiple stab wounds.

A preliminary investigation by homicide detectives found that Dahan and his wife had been married for about two years. The couple recently experienced marital difficulties , but had no previous history of domestic violence. There was no record of domestic violence calls at the residence, and neither Dahan nor his wife had a criminal history.

Richard Dahan was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center on one count of open murder with a deadly weapon. The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office once all relatives have been notified.

Earlier today, the victim in a Saturday morning shooting in a parking lot of a strip club was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office. Twenty-eight-year-old Antonio Darnell Logan of Las Vegas was shot while sitting inside a car in the parking of Crazy Horse III. Logan died of a gunshot wound to the chest, and the shooting was ruled a homicide. Detectives said there was an altercation inside the car before the shooting, which occurred shortly before 8:30 am Saturday.

Police are seeking the public’s help in solving the case, and anyone with information concerning the crime, or the murder of Richard Dahan’s wife, should call the homicide section at (702) 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555, or at www.crimestoppersofnv.com .
