Tim Tebow has reportedly split with girlfriend Camilla Belle , adding to the already rough week for the Jets quarterback.
Before news of his split with Camilla Belle came out on Wednesday, Tebow was passed over for the starting job with the Jets. Brought in during the offseason, Tebow was the pick of many Jets fans to take over as starting quarterback when Mark Sanchez struggled.
When it finally did come time for a quarterback change, the Jets picked third-stringer Greg McElroy instead. After a shaky season in which the Jets struggled to find an on-field role for Tebow, the quarterback may have played his way out of the NFL, the Washington Post reported .
Now, Tim Tebow has heartache to add to his on-field woes, Us Weekly reported. Tebow has split with Belle, his girlfriend of a little less than two months of dating. A source told the magazine that things “just didn’t work out” between the 26-year-old Belle and the 25-year-old Tebow.
Tim Tebow and Camilla Belle went public as a couple on October 30 after they were spotted hanging out with friends at a bowling alley in Jacksonville, Florida. Witnesses said the couple seemed very close.
“They were grabbing kisses and holding hands . . . They were having a great time together,” a witness said at the time of the couple.
The breakup between Tim Tebow and Camilla Belle comes as a least a bit of a surprise. Earlier in the month he took her to meet his parents, who approved of their son’s romance with the Push actress.
