Jon Stewart Calls Trump a ‘Nuclear-Armed Man Baby’ — President Soon Threatens to ‘Obliterate’ Iran

Though Stewart didn't offer solutions, Trump's approval numbers are sliding accordingly.

While the Middle East faces escalating tensions and oil prices are reaching record levels, Donald Trump spent much of his weekend at a golf course and at a Saudi investment conference in Miami. Jon Stewart sharply criticized the president on the March 30 episode of The Daily Show.

He called the 79-year-old president a “nuclear-armed man baby.”

In his monologue, Stewart said:

“In Trumpland, old Donald didn’t let something as trivial as a war keep him from doing his rounds at the golf course, at a Saudi investment meeting in Miami, because God forbid, during a war, he let the precipice of World War III yuck his yum in any way. That was Trump’s weekend.”

Stewart then said he found it “astounding” that Trump appears to have no real grasp of what his “ill-planned adventure in Iran” is doing to the country. “He is just trucking along, like it’s any old episode of The Apprentice.”

During the weekend when Trump was in Florida, his administration threatened to target Iran’s power stations, oil wells and desalination plants if Iran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Legal experts said destroying civilian infrastructure would likely constitute a war crime under international humanitarian law. Amnesty International called the threat “disproportionate and unlawful.”

Oil prices also surged, with Brent crude up 54% since the start of March, surpassing the previous record set when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990, according to The Guardian. The IMF warned that a prolonged Gulf conflict would lead to higher prices and slower global growth. Spain closed its airspace to U.S. military planes, while Egypt’s president directly appealed to Trump to stop the conflict.

The UK prime minister, Keir Starmer, however, stated it was “not our war.”

Meanwhile, Iranian officials called the U.S. peace proposals:

“Excessive, unrealistic and irrational.”

Officials have threatened to set American troops “on fire” if they arrive on the ground. The United Nations’ peacekeeping force in Lebanon reported that two of its personnel were killed within 24 hours.

Yemen’s Houthis have now fired missiles at Israel for the first time since the war began.

Ordinary Americans are expressing disappointment on social media over the Iran conflict involving the U.S. and Israel. “[Trump] says something different every few hours. If you do not like this, just stick around until dinner time,” one said. “Trump saying the war is coming to an end while sending thousands more troops to the Middle East,” wrote another.
