The White House has recently released a video about U.S. and Israel’s ongoing war with Iran that many viewers described as inappropriate and propagandistic. The footage was posted on the White House’s official X account on Thursday, March 5.

The clip featured a montage of U.S. military strikes targeting locations in Iran. The video combined the footage with scenes from well-known action movies and television shows, giving it a cinematic and dramatic tone. The post was captioned “JUSTICE THE AMERICAN WAY,” which quickly drew backlash on social media.

The montage includes scenes and characters from action franchises. Among the characters shown are Bryan Cranston’s Walter White from Breaking Bad and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren from the Star Wars franchise.

The video opens with a scene from Tom Cruise’s 2002 film Minority Report and includes clips from Top Gun: Maverick, Tropic Thunder, Gladiator, The Patriot, John Wick, Superman, Transformers, Deadpool and the Halo franchise.

Several prominent political figures expressed disappointment with the clip. “The entire Trump cabinet is made up of people play acting actual leaders and now they do videos confirming it,” said Neera Tanden, political consultant and CEO of the Center for American Progress.

“A deep embarrassment to us all,” The Tennessee Holler stated on X.

“Confirming all suspicions of propaganda,” wrote journalist Natali Morris.

“There is something in this that seems a poor reflection on people losing their children, sisters and brothers. They should hire adults,” said popular physician David Bell.

According to Deadline, critics argued that the video appeared to glorify military operations during a conflict that had already resulted in significant casualties and destruction. Under Operation Epic Fury, the U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran on February 28.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with his daughter, grandchild, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, was killed. Several other members of the regime also lost their lives.

As of March 6, the conflict has entered its seventh day, and the situation in Tehran continues to deteriorate as heavy airstrikes have destroyed several medical institutions, shops, schools and commercial buildings.

The Iranian Red Crescent chief said that at least 3,090 homes, 528 commercial centers, 13 medical facilities and nine Red Crescent centers have been demolished by the U.S.-Israeli strikes.

In one of the most devastating incidents, Iranian authorities reported that an airstrike on a girls’ school in Minab killed at least 175 children on the first day of the war. According to 8 AM Media, on the first day of the strikes, residents of Tehran were advised to leave the capital.

President Donald Trump and senior officials have warned that further American casualties are possible in a conflict that could last for months. In a recent media briefing, Trump spoke about America’s position in the war with Iran.

“We are doing very well on the war front. To put it mildly I would say. Somebody said on a scale of 1 to 10 where would you rate it? I said about a 15. And we’re going to continue to do what we have. We’ve the greatest military in the world by far,” Trump said.
