Physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking is set to appear at the 2015 Glastonbury music festival, mixing with rock stars like The Who, Kanye West, and the Foo Fighters, all of whom will be headline acts at this year’s festivities.

Hawking will appear on Glastonbury’s Kidz Field, according to Rolling Stone. Though it is unclear what he will be doing during his “special guest appearance,” Hawking will be joined on the field by entertainers like Dynamo the magician and New Zealand songster Mr. Yipadee, among many others.

Professor Hawking is no stranger to music, and has performed with several acts over the years. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Hawking recorded a new version of Monty Python’s Galaxy Song , which was released on Record Store Day as a limited edition seven-inch. Hawking’s version of the song was also played at the group’s reunion shows in London. In addition, Hawking also rejoined Pink Floyd last year to perform on their song Talkin’ Hawkin’ , which appeared on their 2014 LP, The Endless River . He had previously guested with the band in 1994 for their last album, The Division Bell , upon which Hawking narrated Keep Talkin’ .

Though Hawking is almost completely paralyzed from motor neuron disease, he is considered one of the world’s most famed scientists, as ABC News notes. He has portrayed himself on both Star Trek and The Simpsons , and his book A Brief History Of Time has sold millions of copies. Last year, Hawking was also portrayed by Eddie Redmayne in The Theory Of Everything , a film which chronicled his early life and diagnosis with motor neuron disease.

Though there are no details yet on what form Hawking’s performance may take, he could use the appearance to promote the multiverse theory, as he did during an April 26 talk at the Sydney Opera House. Appearing via hologram, as Us Weekly reports, Hawking responded beautifully to a question about Zayn Malik’s departure from One Direction.

“My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay attention to the study of theoretical physics because, one day, there may well be proof of multiple universes… It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another, different universe and, in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction.”

The Glastonbury festival will be held from June 24-28 this year, though it is unclear when Professor Stephen Hawking will appear.
