The Omaha Nighthawks might be the newest team to join the United Football League, but already they are putting together a solid front office, and a roster full of players with NFL experience. They have hired Ted Sundquist to be their Director of Player Personnel. Ted was formerly the General Manger of the Denver Broncos. In his time there the Broncos amassed a 58-38. He was very adapt working with head coach Mike Shanahan at finding players that fit the Broncos system. The initial work on the Omaha roster was done by UFL Director of Personnel Rick Mueller and Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski.

It should surprise no one that many one time Denver Broncos have been added to the Nighthawks roster including; QB Patrick Ramsey, OL George Foster, DT Nic Clemons, OG PJ Alexander, OG Martin Bibla, and WR Calvin Lowry. Lowry played the 2009 as a member of the Detroit Lions.

The Nighthawks roster also features former Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green, and WR Robert Ferguson. The Packers drafted Ferguson in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft, and he has also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons. Former Oakland Raiders Safety Stuart Schweigert is also on their roster. Stuart last saw NFL action in 2008 with the winless Detroit Lions.

Alexander, and Bibla, played in the UFL in 2009 as members of the Florida Tuskers and Las Vegas Locos respectively. They were selected along with 18 other players by the Nighthawks in the UFL expansion draft. UFL rosters are set by a list of 20 protected players (for players that played in the league in 2009) 20 additional free agents, and 12 drafted players. The league will hold its player draft on June 2, 2010.
