Actor Josh Brolin is currently being considered for the lead role in Universal’s upcoming Jurassic World movie. Several sources have confirmed the actors possible involvement in the movie.
According to several snoops Brolin is waiting for an official offer to arrive. Insiders say Brolin is likely to accept the offer once it is made.
Already announced for the 3D sequel are actors Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins. Jurassic World is being directed by Colin Trevorrow and was written by Derek Connolly.
Universal says the movie will debut in theaters on June 12, 2015. The studio has kept plot details under wraps.
Staying close to the project is original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg. He will produce the film alongside Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley.
In the meantime Josh Brolin is starring in Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy. Most recently Brolin finished filming on the Paul Thomas Anderson flick Inherent Vice and Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City sequel.
The Jurassic Park movies have a long history of focusing on the dinosaurs, however, Josh Brolin could ultimately bring a strong acting presence to the series. Of course, with a new 3D view of the dinosaurs we have a feeling this movie will remain a run and scream feature with a thin plotline.
According to Variety the actor was originally be sought after before the movie was shelved as the script was re-written. Brolin stayed interested in the project and that interest appears to be paying off.
