In unusual-use-of-time-and-resources news today, Japanese scientists have created what may be the world’s first microscopic noodle bowl.

The University of Tokyo engineering team built the bowl with a diameter of 1/25,000th of an inch. Now that’s what I call portion control.

The researchers told the Associated Press they actually had a legitimate goal: learning about what it takes to create nanotube-processing technology that could be used for electronics and medicine-related purposes.

Whatever the case may be, tiny noodle makers, we here at The Inquisitr salute you. And next time, how about a microscopic glass of saki to go with our shrunken noodle dinner? Or at the very least, some scaled-down sushi rolls. I love those things.
