Last month Kendra Caldwell married Joseph Duggar, and fans recently got their first chance to see the 19-year-old become an official member of the famous reality TV family on the season finale of Counting On . Before she walked down the aisle, the young bride got the chance to dish to TLC about her over-the-top wedding dress that didn’t quite match up with traditional Duggar wedding fashion.
OK! Magazine posted a special TLC video focused on Caldwell’s bridal style , and the newlywed shared her favorite details about her gown. She described the top as “sparkly” and loved the fact that it had capped sleeves, which along with the high neckline, kept with the Duggar rule of modest wedding dresses.
Caldwell’s dress also featured a full bottom, described as “horse braid,” with a short train. She chose the fourth dress she tried on, and she said she knew it was the one as soon as she put it on. She also wore a sparkly waist-length veil.
She opted for a half-up and half-down hairstyle with curls because her future husband likes her hair down. Caldwell was excited to see Duggar’s reaction to her dress, and she thought it was going to be good.

Another exciting part of the day was the Counting On star’s first kiss. As reported by the Daily Mail , Caldwell said she was nervous because she had never kissed anyone before. After the big moment, Duggar told his new wife that the first kiss was even better than he thought it would be, and it was worth every year and day that he waited.
The ceremony also featured a couple of unique moments. A member of the wedding party dropped from the ceiling Mission Impossible -style to give the couple their rings. Then, after the kiss, the power in the church unexpectedly went out, and the couple had to leave the stage by candlelight.

Duggar is the sixth kid in the family to get married, but it was the first time in nine years that a son tied the knot. After the reception, Duggar and Caldwell flew off to Greece for their honeymoon.
