Judd Apatow wrote an episode of the Simpsons 22 years ago, and it is finally coming to the small screen.
Apatow stopped by Conan O’Brien’s web series Serious Jibber-Jabber where he revealed plans for his long delayed series episode.
According to Judd, he wrote the episode as his first project as a comedian writer. In the episode, Homer Simpson undergoes hypnosis and believes he is Bart’s age. Realizing the things they have in common, Homer and Bart become best friends.
Judd Apatow says the script never received any attention more than two decades ago, but recently the Simpsons’ producers caught wind of the episode and asked to read it.
The hypnosis episode of the Simpsons will be drawn and then aired sometime in 2013.
It’s amazing what 22 years can change. Apatow has gone from a freelance comedy writer to a huge Hollywood powerhouse with such credits to his name as Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Get Him To The Greek, Superbad, and others.
From unkown writer to director-writer-super producer, it will be interesting to watch the Simpsons episode and see how much Judd Apatow has grown in the last 22 years.

We should note that Conan O’Brien has also written Simpsons episodes including the famed monorail episode, a favorite of many Simpsons fans.
