It’s a sad day when cereal favorites get discontinued, never to return to our kitchen cabinet again. Some of our favorite cereals are missed so much that some of us spend a few moments of our time on Amazon trying to see if they exist elsewhere, and usually these attempts are futile. That is until now, as it’s being reported that famous cereals that are no longer around are getting their chance to impress the kids of today.

General Mills has decided to re-release some old favorites for the Halloween season. To celebrate the holiday, the company has decided to re-release only some of our monster-themed favorites such as Yummy Mummy, Boo Berry, Franken Berry, and Count Chocula.

For those who aren’t aware of these cereals it’s probably because you were born in the early 90s or in the late 80s. Fruit Brute was discontinued in 1984, while Fruity Yummy Mummy was discontinued in 1993.

Although these cereals have been gone for years, commercials and cereal obsessions have been documented and uploaded to YouTube for anyone’s viewing pleasure. Of the most popular discontinued cereals is Boo Berry.

Roger Barr, a Boo Berry enthusiast will probably be in his glory day, as he’s been documented on a few different specials advocating for the return of Boo Berry. Barr also known as Rog, runs a Boo Berry fan site , where fans of the cereal can check out the original Boo Berry box designs from 1973 all the way up to 1998. This also includes a special edition cereal box featuring Casper the friendly ghost for Halloween.

On the site Barr writes :

“The OFFICIAL Boo Berry Page is not only here to provide you with information on how to acquire Boo Berry cereal for yourself. It is here to show you that you are not alone! There are thousands of people out there who still remember Boo Berry and have been hunting for his cereal just as long as you have, IF NOT LONGER!”

With some snooping around, it seems as though the Boo Berry enthusiast hasn’t updated the site since 2003.

Will you be running out to get your monster themed cereal?
