Kate Middleton is making news because of her fashion style, again. The dress she is seen wearing on those much anticipated family photos sold out within hours after the pictures hit the internet.
The dress is made by British manufacturer Seraphine, a brand the Duchess of Cambridge has favored in the past. Remember the polka dot dress she used to christen one of the royal ships.
Yes, you guessed, it’s from Seraphine and it only cost $79. Very modest for a royal.
Kate also used a Seraphine dress when she was photographed leaving Kensington Palace on her way to her parents house in Bucklebury, where the family has been staying ever since.
Cecile Reinaud, founder of Seraphine, said she was honored that the Duchess has once again chosen to wear a dress from their collection, which also retails for $79. Classy, but thrifty.
It does make some sense. When is she going to wear the dress in the future? So, why not save?
Kate Middleton is one of the biggest fashion influences of our time, anything she wears becomes popular. She has a very simple, yet elegant style and is not afraid to use brands which are not considered “posh”.
But Kate is not the only big name that wears Seraphine. So do Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, and January Jones. Although none of these ladies seem to attract the attention the Duchess does.
Seraphine’s sales spiraled in July with more than a 100 percent increase after Kate was seen wearing their dresses. The company uses this to its advantage and tags the items chosen by the royal with the line, “as worn by Kate Middleton”.

The retailer said that the dress sold out within hours of the photos making it on the Internet. Which has caused them to warn customers that when ordering the fuchsia dress orders are delayed until next month.
Many have tried to cash in on the “Kate effect”, but not all have been successful, Seraphine is one of those lucky ones.
