Taylor Swift and John Mayer both attended Drake’s 30th birthday. Are they rekindling their romance after her splits from Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris?
Following Taylor Swift’s breakup from Hiddleston, which has been proceeded by allegations of lying and manipulation, Swift and former flame John Mayer were both seen arriving to Delilah in West Hollywood along with a number of other celebrities, including Karlie Kloss, the Haim sisters, Shay Mitchell, French Montana, Jamie Foxx, and Katy Perry.
In photos shared by TMZ on October 24, Taylor Swift and John Mayer were both seen wearing black, as were the majority of Drake’s guests.
As fans of Taylor Swift may recall, the singer infamously penned her hit breakup song “Dear John” after splitting from Mayer. However, while Swift is known for her habit of turning heartbreak into hits, Mayer was completely blindsided by the track.

Taylor Swift penned 2010’s “Dear John” after dating one year prior. The lyrics to the song include those seen below.
“Dear John, I see it all now that you’re gone Don’t you think I was too young To be messed with? The girl in the dress Cried the whole way home, I should’ve known.”
Taylor Swift also noted that their split may have been the result of her “blind optimism” and targeted Mayer’s alleged “sick need” to give love before taking it away.
Years after the song was released, Mayer spoke out against Taylor Swift, claiming to have been humiliated by the diss track.
“I never got an e-mail. I never got a phone call,” he said during an interview with Rolling Stone , via MTV News , in 2012. “I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”
During the interview, Mayer refused to address Taylor Swift’s claim of being “too young” and instead took the opportunity to reveal he that he had a few issues with the song from a musician’s standpoint.
“I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting,” he said. “I know she’s the biggest thing in the world, and I’m not trying to sink anybody’s ship, but I think it’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait till he gets a load of this!’ That’s bulls***.”
Taylor Swift is also believed to have written “Bad Blood” about her fallout with Katy Perry.

Around the time of Mayer’s interview with Rolling Stone , he and Perry struck up a romance that continued until 2015. Since then, Perry has been dating Orlando Bloom, who has frequently been linked to Taylor Swift’s best friend, Selena Gomez.
As for Taylor Swift, she recently spent time dating Tom Hiddleston after splitting from Calvin Harris earlier this year after 15 months of dating. According to the latest reports, Taylor Swift began dating Hiddleston after the actor reportedly lied to her and suggested Harris had hit on another woman behind her back . Then, after just three months of dating, Swift and Hiddleston parted ways.
Following her breakup from Hiddleston, Taylor Swift reportedly did a little research on Harris and the mystery woman named by Hiddleston and discovered that Harris had actually done nothing wrong. A short time later, Swift and Harris reportedly made amends.
