Blogger Perez Hilton is a dad , the man himself confirmed in a post on PerezHilton.com.
The openly gay Perez Hilton (real name Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr.) did not disclose much about the circumstances surrounding the birth of the baby boy announced on his blog.
While Perez simply says he is the father of the baby boy, he didn’t go into whether he acquired the child through standard means, if a surrogate was used, or he adopted the baby. No mention of a partner was made in the piece either, and in the open letter to readers, Lavandeira simply said:
“Dear Friends,
“I want you to hear this directly from me, right here .
“I am ready to announce that earlier this month I was blessed with the birth of my first child, a beautiful and healthy baby boy – with lots of hair on his tiny head!”
Declining to specify a birth date, Perez Hilton continues:
“My family is overjoyed at this newest and most cherished addition.
“Thank YOU for welcoming PerezHilton.com into your homes, offices, classrooms, cell phones and wherever else you may read my five websites.
“And thank you for welcoming ME into your lives!”
Lavandeira concludes:
“I am so humbled to welcome this little man into my life. And I am honored and ready for the challenge of guiding him through his.
With love, Perez”
Also not mentioned were Perez Hilton’s son’s name, birth weight, place of birth or other standard vital stats.
Regardless of the circumstances under which Perez Hilton became a dad (which are largely irrelevant) the baby boy is clearly loved and much wanted upon his arrival — which is all that matters, isn’t it?
