Actress Stacey Dash, who came under heavy Twitter fire for expressing support for Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s presidential bid, has tweeted a photo of her standing next to GOP VP hopeful Paul Ryan. In the accompanying tweet, Dash wrote “Fighting the good fight. Godspeed.”
Earlier when this month, when the Clueless actress originally expressed support for Mitt Romney , she was insulted on social media in the most vulgar, offensive, and at times racially charged way. Her originally tweet simply read “Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future.”
To no surprise, the same backlash happened when she tweeted the above photo yesterday. You can see some of the angry, hateful tweets — and also some in support — at Twitchy .
Although Obama supporters may think that Dash — who admitted to voting for Obama in 2008 — is “clueless” in her political preferences, there is no justification to make it personal. Like any American, she has the First Amendment right to free speech and to express an opinion.
As The Inquisitr previously reported , Paul Ryan reached out to Stacey Dash after the internet backlash turned exceptionally ugly. Ryan explained that Dash was brave for speaking her mind and endorsing the GOP presidential ticket and stated that he and Romney support her as well.
It is usually career suicide in Hollywood to be anything but a vocal liberal Democrat in public, so it remains to be seen how many acting gigs Stacey Dash will be able to get moving forward.
