An Oklahoma cemetery robbery was made right today after an elderly woman was mugged earlier this month. A teen saw his father’s face on the news and went out of his way to right the wrong.

Usually heroes only seem to gain fame in comic books, but occasionally a real-life hero does a good deed and saves the day. No, this hero doesn’t have super powers. He’s not even old enough to drink yet.

The hero’s name is Christian Lunsford, 15, a young man whose future looks bright indeed.

Tona Herndon, 78, had just lost her husband of 60 years and was visiting his grave site only two weeks after he passed away. In her moment of grieving, mugger Shane Lunsford , believed to be one of two men involved, violently ripped her purse off of her shoulder as she was heading back to her car. In her purse was $700 and a few credit cards.

When Christian Lunsford found out about his father being involved with the Oklahoma cemetery robbery, by seeing the man’s face on the TV news, he wanted to meet the elderly Tona Herndon and make amends. His father had given him some money for a trip, but he decided to give it to the elderly robbery victim instead.

Tona Herndon gave Christian Lunsford his money right back and told him the gesture was enough for her. She was just happy to see someone trying as hard as he did to make amends. It’s not every day we see a hero in action, and sometimes it’s enough to see a sign that there is some good left in the world.

Christian Lunsford is proof that there are some decent people left in a world rampant with shootings and corruption.

The other man allegedly involved in the Oklahoma cemetery robbery was Timothy Strunk, who is still at large. Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Bethany Police Department at (405) 789-2323.
